Enrico Ciliberto was born in Turin on 17 September 1951.

1975  Doctor in Chemistry at University of Catania ( 110/110 cum laude).

In 1980 lecturer in General Chemistry

From 1983 to 2001 Associate professor of Inorganic Chemistry.

In 1990  visiting professor  at the Interface Analysis Centre, Bristol University.

In 2001 he won a competition for full professor (Inorganic Chemistry) at Venice University Ca’ Foscari.

From 2001 Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at University of Catania.

From 2009 is President of Technology Applied to Cultaral Heritage Faculty, University of Catania.

He published more then 100 papers in international journals.

His current research interests include:

-Characterisation of work-of-art materials and investigation of their degradation processes.

-Synthesis of Self Assembly monolayer on inorganic substrates.

-Nanotechnologies applied to the conservation of works of art.

-Applications of surface  spectroscopic techniques to the study of inorganic and organic materials.
